This is one of my favorite hikes in boulder. Theres a couple of routes you can choose from, its not too hard but still challenging and beautiful! If you get to the river, there's a cool old car that must've crashed there in the 50s or 60s. And it is like a famous attraction for the hike.
Great for mountain biking.
Beautiful views. Hiking is nice but mountain bikers on the trail can make it a little bit challenging. Bikers were extremely careful and courteous when I was on the hike.

Possibly the best flow trail on the front range. There are a few steep climbs …
Excellent park here with some lovely trails and great in the winter! Lots of snowshoeing and skiing trails and there's a little fox den here too with a little guy who is moderately friendly! Cool area to park and fun to drive to as well. Beautiful views and good place for dogs!
Betasso Preserve is a wonderful hike!
I would not say a beginner hike, especially if not used to the altitude.
Dogs are allowed on leash (wish it was off leash) …
Uphill not easy hike.
I stopped at the highway.
It's uphill for 35 solid minutes. Once at Betasso you go down the valley and …
Beautiful scenic drive up there and picturesque once you're there ! And it was so clean , wow!
We booted up and hit the trail at 11a this morning. Snow covered the majority of the 3m canyon loop but was easily passable with standard boots, trekking pole, and camera. Trail was clearly marked by blue markers nailed to trees. Walked it counter click wise. Even saw some mountain bikers out. Really enjoyed the hike in the snow.
We had an amazing time. Stayed at the a-lodge on four mile canyon road. My daughter and son. 10 and 7 hiked. It was pretty tough. Had to be careful. It’s steep traversing from the back of a-lodge up to the Betasso trail. We saw some deer. …
Betasso is a fairly easy trail for mountain biking. It's a directional trail two loops with a connector trail and two other out and back trails. Be aware that mountain bikes are NOT allowed on Wednesday and Saturdays
